Similar problem here with the Kindle app and the NBA app when using an SD card as adoptable storage. I'd install both and they'd disappear on reboot. I fixed the issue by moving both apps back to internal storage in Settings -> Apps. They work normally now. I'm not sure whether this is a bug in Android, the Shield, the SD card, or the apps.
